SEOW WAN LI

Wan Li is an Associate Director at Xavier & Associates LLC. Her main area of practice is in corporate and commercial law, with a particular focus on intellectual property (IP) and information technology (IT) issues and transactions.

She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) Second Class (Upper Division) Honours in 1998, and was called to the Singapore Bar in 1999. Thereafter, she practised at Allen & Gledhill LLP, starting out in IP litigation and enforcement and trademark registration before finding her niche in transactional IP/IT work as part of Allen & Gledhill’s Technology & Corporate Intellectual Property Practice Group. She has extensive experience with a broad range of IP and IT commercial transactions, including negotiating, drafting and advising on franchising, distributorship, technology transfer and licensing, IT outsourcing, e-commerce and internet banking transactions. Her natural meticulousness and eye for detail means that she is capable at and enjoys structuring legal documentation for her clients’ commercial transactions in an effective and comprehensive manner. She particularly thrives on the challenges associated with transactions involving new or emerging technologies.

Wan Li has acted on behalf of diverse clients including major telecommunications companies, stock exchanges, statutory boards, banks, airlines, publishers, local and international IT manufacturers and service providers, food and beverage companies, biotechnology companies and various other multi-national corporations (MNCs), small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and start-up companies. Her exposure to a variety of agreements and corporations of various sizes translates into means that clients benefit from the depth and breadth of her experience to bring value and insight to their transactions based on her understanding of their industries.
